Motorists can choose to purchase a combined coverage for $125,000.

Teenagers account for many collisions and fatalities because of their inexperience. Maine has implemented several laws in order to lower these injury and fatality rates and to help educate teenagers in driving safety and the rules and regulations they must follow. Some of these laws are:
- Anyone under the age of 18 cannot talk or text on a cell phone while driving.
- The legal alcohol limit is 0.08%, but there is zero tolerance for anyone under the age of 18.
- Teenagers must maintain a B average in school and complete an approved driver's course in order to retain their driving privileges.
- A driver with a learner's license must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 20 years of age.
- A driver with an intermediate license cannot carry any passengers unless they are family members.
